HI!!!! I'm a decendent of the Coubrough's too, my mum's maiden name is Coubrough, she actually signed the book already as did my cousin Tanya Coubrough.. I live in London Ontario born and raised. My mum's dad was Duncan Coubrough and he had four kids. My mum and uncle Donald are here in Canada and my uncle Hamish and Aunt Sylvie are in the UK. Cheers to Coubrough!!!

I am interested in your site because my godfather was a John Coubrough, a great friend of William Stuart, my father, but otherwise something of a mystery man to me. I was given his name (my full name is William John Coubrough Stuart) and have always felt that was something of a privelege. Coubrough is such a lovely name!
I never knew John Coubrough, though, and feel that is a shame as he must have been one of the very few close friends my father ever had - but one of these days, my wife and daughter who are 'into' genealogy, may try to track him down! There is a picture of him somewhere - I think my father (aged 98) still has it.
We don't know where or when he was born, though he seems to have been approximately the same age as dad - nor when he died. We don't know whether he was Scottish like us - probably - though we were in England when I was born (1944) and he may have been, too. Dad is a bit vague nowadays about such things. He never married, though, that we do know.
Not much in the way of clues! Anyway, he doesn't seem to be in your index. Perhaps he will always remain a mystery .....

catherine coubrough b.1880 stirling,daughter of john Coubrough and catherine campbell,she was bob's grandmother she married John Wallace in Blantyre 19.6.1903 they had three sons John Coubrough Wallace, Robert Aird Wallace(Bob's father) and William Wallace. John and Catherine settled in Crosshouse in Ayrshire. Your site has made researching the Coubrough's a delight. good luck to all family tree hunters. Kathy Wallace

My grandmother was a Mary Coubrough of Stirling 1856/1936.Married James Clarke 1859/1919 Lighthouse keeper of Loch Eribol. She had eigh children and is buried in the Durness cemtery, Southerlandshire Scotland.

I am searching for information on my Great-Great-Grandmother ELLEN COBROUGH / COUBROUGH, born "Gartmore, Stirling" in about 1839. She emmigrated to Tasmania in about 1860, aged 21. She married John Conacher. I have been unsuccessful in tracing any record of her birth in the Scottish records, so would be grateful for any assistance. This is a great site!
