Reunion 2009: Summer
2009, Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada
2007 Reunion
2005 Reunion 2003 Reunion
We all know that the Coubrough tribe has been in central Scotland for
at least the last 500 years. We also know that they have since spread all
over the globe. Most of the descendants of those emigrants have come to
believe that, outside of a few shadowy cousins in Scotland, they were the
only people in the whole world with their Coubrough or Cowbrough surname.
Of course, we were all vastly mistaken. The main premise of the research
behind this site is that, in spite of more than 50 spellings of the
surname and the various migrations of tribal members, all those of us who
bear the Coubrough and Cowbrough surnames are related somewhere in the
misty past. I have long thought that it would be wonderful if I could
collect up all the Coubroughs in the world and bring them to one place for
a party. In August 2001, I did exactly that. We had 49
people from 4 different countries - all of whom were astounded to find so
many other people with their own name who lived in so many other places. The
success of the first ever Coubrough/Cowbrough International Family Reunion
engendered encores held April 19-20, 2003, in Katikati, New Zealand, and
August 8 - 10, 2005, in Stirling, Stirling, Scotland. Click one of the links below
to read all about them. If you missed these first three, another is
scheduled for the summer of 2007, in the United States of America, and there are plans in
the works for more to come. Watch here for news.
